One press for crystal and case

This press handles two common workshop tasks: pressing a watch crystal into its bezel or case, and closing a snap-on case back after a repair or a battery change. Pressure is applied evenly and centred, which reduces the risk of fitting the crystal askew.

Using it to fit a crystal

• Choose a die whose diameter matches the crystal, so that it presses around the whole edge.
• Place the case on the base with a suitable die underneath.
• Centre the crystal, then lower the press gradually until it snaps into place.
• Check that the crystal sits flat and the gasket is correctly seated.
