Anti-reflective domed mineral crystal 1.0 mm

Large diameter, one millimetre thick and anti-reflective coating: this reference meets a specific need. It comes in 39.9 mm only.

Suitable watches

A crystal of nearly 40 mm generally suits generously sized men's watches: quartz chronographs, city models or aviation-inspired watches. The dome is often found on cases with a slim bezel that lets the crystal stand out.

What you need to know

Anti-reflective coating

The surface treatment reduces distracting reflections. On a large domed dial, which catches light from many angles, this improves legibility. It does not make the crystal harder.

Mineral crystal

Its standard hardness is about 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale. It offers good value for its strength, but scratches more than sapphire crystal.

The domed profile

The crystal sits proud of the bezel. It looks livelier than a flat crystal, but the top of the dome is the first area exposed to knocks and rubbing.

Measure to get it right

With only one size in the catalogue, you need to be sure of your measurement. With a calliper, measure the diameter of the old crystal at the base, then the thickness at the edge. If the crystal is broken, record the inner diameter of the bezel. A measurement other than 39.9 mm means you should look at our standard 1.0 mm domed crystal, available in many diameters.
