Hytrel I-ring crystal gasket 0.40 × 1.75 mm

The tall gasket for very thick crystals

This is the tallest of our standard I-ring gaskets: 1.75 mm high with a 0.40 mm wall. The Hytrel ring sits between the crystal and the bezel or case; it seals the watch and holds the pressed-in crystal. It is intended for crystals with a very tall edge and for deep seats, for example on some diving or sports watches with thick crystals.

Check the height you need

A gasket that is too tall will rise above the bezel; one that is too short leaves part of the edge unsupported. Measure the height of the crystal edge and the depth of the seat, then compare with our 1.20 and 1.25 mm heights. The gasket diameter equals the crystal diameter. Fitting

Never refit a gasket that has already been compressed: it no longer seals. With a gasket this tall, make sure it is straight and free of folds before pressing, and use a die that bears on the whole circumference of the crystal. See our guide on how to replace a watch gasket.
