This domed sapphire watch crystal is used to replace a damaged crystal or to restore the look of a watch. Sapphire is valued in watchmaking for its hardness and scratch resistance, while offering excellent transparency. The domed shape keeps the original appearance of many classic or vintage watches, and it can also replace a mineral or acrylic crystal.
The anti-reflective coating reduces light reflections and makes the hands and indices easier to read in different lighting. The bluish tint visible at certain angles is not the colour of the crystal: it is an optical effect of the coating. At a favourable viewing angle, the crystal looks almost invisible and remains fully transparent.
