Mineral crystals and their shapes

Mineral crystal is fitted to a large share of everyday watches. Its hardness is around 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, placing it between acrylic and sapphire. This category brings together 23 products, or 3276 diameters between 10 and 50 mm, from €5.90 to €13.90 inc. VAT.

Three shape families

• Flat: 0.7 to 4.0 mm thick, with a chamfered version and a rimmed version.
• Domed: 0.8 to 2.0 mm, including two anti-reflective references.
• Domed with base: 1.0 to 3.0 mm, the dome sitting on a flat rim.

To choose, look at the profile of the original crystal from the side: a perfectly flat surface, a continuous curve, or a curve that starts after a shoulder. Thickness is measured on the edge of the removed crystal; too thick a crystal may touch the hands or protrude above the bezel, too thin a crystal reduces the hold.
