The domed mineral crystal

A domed crystal curves continuously from the centre to the edge. It gives depth to the dial and is found on many classic watches. This category includes 6 products, or 609 diameters from 14 to 50 mm, between €5.90 and €11.90 inc. VAT.

Domed 0.8 mm and 1.0 mm: thin versions, with the widest choice of diameters.
Domed 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm: thicker versions, from 18 mm.
Domed 0.8 mm anti-reflective (30.2 mm) and 1.0 mm anti-reflective (39.9 mm): a single diameter each.

To select the right product, check in profile that the curve really starts at the edge: if a flat rim appears before the dome, look instead at the domed crystals with base. Then measure the thickness on the edge, followed by the diameter at the base of the crystal.

Our guide explains how to go about measuring a crystal with a calliper. To check the material of the crystal to be replaced, the page on crystal types sets out the differences between mineral, sapphire and acrylic.

Frequently asked questions

Is a domed crystal measured at the base?

Yes, the diameter to use is that of the base, where the crystal sits in the bezel, not the curve.

How does it differ from a domed crystal with base?

The plain domed crystal curves right to the edge; the domed crystal with base has a flat rim around its edge before the curve.

Which diameters are available in anti-reflective?

The 0.8 mm anti-reflective domed crystal comes in 30.2 mm and the 1.0 mm anti-reflective domed crystal in 39.9 mm.

Which thickness should I choose?

Match the thickness of the original crystal, measured on its edge. The thicknesses offered are 0.8, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mm.
