Remove a water-resistance gasket

This illustrated tutorial shows how to remove a watch gasket using the products sold in our shop.

Back to the guide home: Change a watch gasket

This part of the guide walks you through removing a watch gasket. To reach it you'll need to open the case. See the guides on how to open a snap-back watch or how to open a screw-back watch.

For this step you'll need antistatic tweezers and a pair of calipers.

Step 1: Remove the gasket from the case

Step 1

With the watch open, you'll see the gasket sitting in the case. It's usually black but other colours exist.

Step 2

With your antistatic tweezers, gently lift the worn gasket out.
